Our 'ROUX ARDENNAIS' sheep

We rear ‘roux ardennais’ sheep, an ancestral local breed that was on the brink of extinction several years ago. Physically, the “roux ardennais” have red heads and legs, while the rest of their body is covered in beige wool.

Why choose this breed?

Highly resistant to parasites and disease, the “roux ardennais” are perfectly suited to harsh climatic conditions. So it can spend the winter outdoors without any problems.

Moreover, the “roux ardennais” feeds on grass (hay in winter when it is scarcer) but also on nettles (dried at the end of the season) or brambles, making it a very good “pasture maintainer”.

Finally, the “roux ardennais” lambs produce lean meat of excellent quality and exceptional flavour.
